Did you know there are more than a dozen ways to stay connected to Middletown Middle School (MMS)?

Listed below are the ways you can get information about staff, activities, curriculum, events - just about anything! If it is orange, it is a link to take you directly there.

EMAILS

1. Find Out First (FOF) sends important information directly to your email inbox. If you do NOTHING else, you should sign up for Find Out First. You can tailor which emails and schools you subscribe to.

2. Teachers have individual email addresses (firstname.lastname@fcps.org) & are listed in the staff directory https://education.fcps.org/mms/directory

3. You can reach anyone on the PTA through our group email: ptsamiddletownmiddle@gmail.com

WEBSITES & BLOGS

4. The school has its own website at https://education.fcps.org/mms/.

FCPS has a website for more high-level information http://www.fcps.org/

5. The PTSA has its own website with a wealth of information and resources here!

Some teachers maintain their own websites/blogs as well. You would find them on the teacher's homepage through the school website. These websites can be a great reference tool for when you don’t understand the homework or forgot when a project is due or what the requirements are.

FACEBOOK & TWITTER

7. The PTO Facebook page at here posts volunteer opportunities, photos from events and highlights news relevant to our schools. "LIKE" us today! (Contact us if you would like to make a posting request.)

8. Some teachers, teams, extracurricular groups may have Facebook pages as well. Contact them individually to find out.

9. Do you Tweet?! Our Principal, Mr. Fer, has a Twitter account @MiMSprincipal. The Media Specialist also tweets at @MiMSlibraryFCPS

NEWSLETTERS

10. Several newsletters/bulletins come out monthly or weekly from multiple sources, such as: the PTA, Specials Teams like Art, Music or PE, Grade-Level Teams, Media Center Specialists. Archives for past newsletters can be found here (Newsletters are usually delivered via a link in a Find Out First email. Most groups have moved away from paper newsletters.)

PEOPLE

11. The MMS PTSA (parent student teacher association) joins people who want to be "in the know" about what is going on. More information about the PTSO (including how to join for just $10 per year) can be found here. PTSA Meetings are held bi-monthly (this will resume when school resumes in person) and are one of the best ways to actually have face-to-face contact with others.

Hopefully this overview gives you better access to the resources that help you stay "in the know" with regard to your child's education.
